We’re excited to announce our commitment to build and deploy U.K. AI infrastructure with 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs by 2026. This facility will provide an incredibly powerful sovereign AI compute platform, designed to train and serve the next generation of large language models, scientific AI systems, and real-time intelligent applications, all from within our national borders and aligned with NVIDIA’s recently announced U.K. Sovereign Industry Forum.
Laying the foundations for sovereign AI
NVIDIA has taken action to strengthen the country’s leadership in AI by supporting the build-up of national compute infrastructure, advancing foundational research, and convening industry through the inaugural U.K. Sovereign AI Industry Forum, announced at London Tech Week.
As one of NVIDIA’s trusted infrastructure partners, Nscale’s AI factory will provide critical scale and sovereign capability to support:
- National AI research initiatives.
- A growing domestic AI start-up ecosystem.
- Frontier model development with built-in safeguards and alignment tooling.
- High-assurance, secure compute for public and private sector use.
What this means in practice
Our AI factory will deliver:
- 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, designed for AI workloads at scale, with industry-leading performance and energy efficiency.
- Massively scalable AI infrastructure, including high-speed interconnects, model orchestration, and real-time inference support.
- Custom-built software pipelines for training, fine-tuning, deployment, and evaluation of advanced AI models.
- Sustainably powered data centres, aligned with net-zero targets.
Additionally, Nscale will hire and train 100 AI specialists in the U.K. over the next 12 months, building critical talent capacity to support the U.K.’s AI ambitions. This investment will help create a platform for the U.K.’s AI future, empowering thousands of researchers, engineers, start-ups, and enterprises to tackle real-world challenges with cutting-edge AI.
